The Global Greeter Network is an informal virtual association of Greeter programs around the world.

Greeters are volunteers who share their love for their city in an enthusiastic and hospitable manner. A Greeter will take you for a walk through the city for a couple of hours and you will experience his/her city in a unique way, from the perspective of a person who lives there.

The Global Greeter network includes Houston,Texas; New York City; New York, Chicago, Illinois in the United States; Toronto, Canada; Melbourne and Adelaide, Australia; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Paris, Lyon, Marseille. Pas-de-Calais and Nantes, France; Brighton and Kent, England; and The Hague, The Netherlands.

The concept is very well received throughout the world. Over 50 cities are interested to start their own Greeter program, thus building a huge worldwide network of people and cities sharing the core values of the Greeter concept.
These core values connect very well to modern issues as sustainable tourism, local development, and an open and trustful relation between different cultures.
